DC Junction Block
Couldn't load pickup availability
The DC Junction Block is an essential plug-and-play adapter board that allows any 2-pin electronic component (e.g. resistors, capacitors and varistors) to be mounted easily and securely across DC lines without soldering
Not only is it perfect for trying out different parts during pre-compliance, but its secure connections and plastic case mean it can be permanently installed in any equipment or product.
The adapter board can easily be incorporated into existing systems using the lever arm screwless terminal blocks. Varistors, capacitors, resistors and wires amongst others can be placed across the lines by simply pushing them into the block in the centre of the board. The DC Junction Block can easily be added to you products' BoM to fix your EMC issues without the hassle of having to redesign!
The DC Junction Block offers a screwless terminal at each end of the block each able to accept the negative and positive DC connections from 14 to 28 AWG. The DC Junction Block has a 2 terminal lever connector which can accept through hole electronic components and wire. This central connection is connected between the positive and negative terminal of the DC input and output.
Features
- Plug & play varistor adapter board
- Designed for use in DC applications (<60V)

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a varistor work?
Varistors have a variable resistance dependent on the voltage applied. The higher the voltage the lower the resistance so when there is a increase voltage surge on the line (e.g. ESD, surge or transient) the voltage diverts through the varistor rather than damaging your product electronics.
Is a varistor single use?
No
A varistor can see multiple high voltages or ESD surges and recover. However, the varistor will get damaged if there is a prolonged high voltage applied (higher than its rating).
Where do I place a varistor?
The varistor should typically be fitted between the positive and neagtive lines in a DC system and between line and neutral, line and Earth and neutral and Earth in and AC system. Varistors should be place on any lines that may be susceptible to voltage fluctuations.
