This filter retains an electrical connection between the devices. For ground-loop isolation on a compatible low-speed or full-speed USB device, compare our signal and power isolators.

What should I check before buying a USB filter?

Check the plug and socket arrangement, required USB data rate and supply current or power. A matching connector shape alone does not establish compatibility with every USB mode.

Is a filter the same as an isolator?

No. A filter reduces unwanted noise while retaining an electrical connection. An isolator separates the relevant electrical paths and can help interrupt ground loops. Choose according to your device and application.

Will the filter fix every USB interference problem?
