Product details
Investigate ground-loop noise in compatible USB instruments and control systems.
Connections and selection
- Select 1.5 Mb/s low speed or 12 Mb/s full speed to match your peripheral.
- USB Type-B input socket and Type-A output socket.
- Choose low-power peripherals with a demand no greater than 200 mA; account for startup demand.
- USB-powered signal and power isolation.
- 480 Mb/s high-speed and USB 3.x transfer modes are not supported.
USB port shape or the label USB 2.0 is not enough to establish compatibility. Check the actual peripheral mode, current demand and application. Audio compatibility depends on the specific device and stream requirements.
Match the speed to your device
Press the speed button for 1.5 Mb/s low speed; release it for 12 Mb/s full speed. Check the peripheral’s actual operating mode and its running and startup current. A low-speed mouse needs low-speed mode even when connected to a faster host port.
Use for functional isolation and noise investigation. The product is not offered as a rated personnel-protection barrier.
Compare USB filters and isolators by connector, data mode and power requirement.

Questions about this product
Which USB speeds can I use?
Which USB speeds can I use?
This isolator supports 1.5 Mb/s low-speed and 12 Mb/s full-speed devices. It does not support 480 Mb/s high-speed USB or USB 3.x transfer modes. Check the device’s operating speed, not just the USB version printed on its connector or packaging.
How do I select the speed?
How do I select the speed?
Set the switch to match the connected device: pressed for 1.5 Mb/s low speed, released for 12 Mb/s full speed. Confirm the switch setting and wiring against the datasheet before connecting.
How much isolated power is available?
How much isolated power is available?
Select a peripheral whose demand stays within 200 mA, including startup. The datasheet’s 250 mA maximum is not a guaranteed continuous output allowance.
