Product details

Evaluate signal isolation and logic-level interfacing between compatible electronic systems.

Connections and selection

  • Three forward digital channels and one reverse channel.
  • One isolated output supply, selectable between 3.3 V and 5 V.
  • For logic-level connections; RS232, RS485 and CAN applications require the appropriate physical-layer transceiver.
  • Plan channel direction, supply budget and interface timing before connecting your circuit.

Conventional four-wire SPI and separate-TX/RX logic UART are potential applications when their timing and voltage requirements are met. This is not a direct universal bus adapter.

Where it fits in your circuit

For conventional four-wire SPI, three forward channels can carry clock, MOSI and chip-select, with the reverse channel carrying MISO. A separate-TX/RX logic UART uses one channel in each direction. Choose a clock or data rate from the timing needs of the complete interface.

Place appropriate transceivers between the logic signals and RS232, RS485 or CAN bus wiring. Do not connect bus-voltage lines directly to the logic inputs.

Use the supplied instructions for the generic 3-forward/1-reverse version. The enclosure labels in the photographs should not be used as a wiring diagram.

Use for functional isolation and development; a continuous safety working-voltage rating is not specified.
